the Second International Graphic Humour Festival “The Sunny Dragon” , Armenia

The Association of Caricaturists, the Union of Designers and the Union of Artists of Armenia, with support from
the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia announce the Second International Graphic Humour
Festival “The Sunny Dragon” to take place in Yerevan, Armenia.
The subjects of the Festival are:
1. Noah’s Return: a/ graphic humour (cartoons, caricatures, strips, comics, etc.); b/ funny design;
2. Ad Libidem.
Awards:
The 1st Prize – “Golden Sunny Dragon”
The 2nd Prize – “Silver Sunny Dragon”
The 3rd Prize – “Bronze Sunny Dragon”
Special Awards:
Special Prize from the RA Ministry of Culture
Special Prize from the Association of Caricaturists of Armenia
Special Prize from the Armenian Union of Designers
Special Prize of the Union of Artists of Armenia
Sympathy of the Audience
Regulations
1. People above 18 throughout the world are eligible to take part in the Festival.
2. Each author could submit unlimited number of works on the main subject (cartoons, caricatures, strips,
comics, etc., funny design); and up to three free compositions.
3. Works, in digital format, should be sent to the following e-mail addresses:
artunion_75@yahoo.com,
thesunnydragon@gmail.comtogether with the filled-in digital entry form. All submitted works, in
any technique, black/white or colour, must be saved in high quality JPG, TIFF, PNG or PDF formats, in 300 dpi
resolution, in A4 size; each file should not exceed 5MB. Larger files will not be considered.
4. The deadline for submissions is MARCH 20, 2014.
5. The Golden, Silver and Bronze Sunny Dragons are awarded by the Jury; the Jury’s decision is final and not
disputable. The composition of the Jury will be announced additionally.
6. Special Awards will be assigned by the respective organizations.
The Sympathy of the Audience will be
determined by the visitors votes.
7. The submitted works will be exhibited at the House of Artists of Armenia (16 Abovyan Str., Yerevan,
Armenia), also at different galleries and exhibition halls in Yerevan or in the regions of Armenia at sole
discretion of the organizers.
8. Submissions that have received awards previously at other events are also accepted; please mention the
place and the date of the award.
9. Results of the voting will be sent to all the participating artists by email, published on the special website
(the address will be announced shortly) and posted on the facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/pages/
Armenian-association-of-caricaturists/105515479573700?ref=hl within April 2014.
10. The “Sunny Dragon 2014” catalogue will be published, and all the artists whose artworks are selected for
the catalogue will receive a free copy together with the participant’s badge.
11. The opening ceremony will take place on April 1, 2014, at 14:00, at the House of Artists of Armenia;
announcing of the winners and closing of the Festival will take place on April 8, 2014. The exhibition will remain
open until April 8, 2014.
12. Participation in the Festival assumes full acceptance of all the conditions and rules by the authors.

Foreign Cultural Relations Sector, Ministry of Culture in Egypt, organizes in cooperation with Egyptian Caricature Society, 1st Cairo International Cartoon Exhibition.

Technical Criteria
• All artworks to be prepared at 300 dpi actual size A4 (210mmx297mm), or A3 (297mmx420mm) in JPG format.
• Submitted works can be in color or black and white, in any style or technique 
• Number of entries is unlimited.
• Submitted works must not violate copyright laws.
• By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permits the organizers to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.

Colabore com a Sanitário #3!

06/03/14: Prorrogado o prazo de inscrição para 24 de março. A prorrogação acarretará também no adiamento do lançamento da revista.

A revista Sanitário é um produto do extinto Coletivo WC, grupo de quadrinistas paraibanos formado em meados de 2010, que encerrou as atividades em 2013, no lançamento da segunda edição da revista. Entretanto, na intenção de fechar a trilogia e assim fechar também a trajetória do grupo que surgiu com a intenção de reunir e divulgar o trabalho dos quadrinistas da Paraíba, resolvemos lançar a terceira edição da Sanitário.

Como o grupo se dissolveu, concluiu-se que a revista deveria existir em um novo formato, próximo à intenção inicial do Coletivo WC: reunir todos os quadrinistas do estado. Dessa maneira, está aberto o edital de seleção para que quaisquer escritores, ilustradores e quadrinistas da Paraíba possam se inscrever.

Prêmio Pernambuco com inscrições abertas até 2/3

De 02 de janeiro a 03 de março estão abertas as inscrições para o II Prêmio Pernambuco de Literatura. Organizado pelo governo do Estado através da Secult/Fundarpe e da Companhia Editora de Pernambuco (Cepe), a premiação é uma tentativa de viabilizar o acesso e a produção da literatura pernambucana contemporânea. Dessa forma, serão selecionados cinco finalistas que, além de terem suas obras publicadas com tiragem de mil exemplares, receberão uma bonificação de R$ 5 mil, à exceção do vencedor, beneficiado em R$ 15 mil.

Inscrições abertas para o Wimbledon Shorts

As inscrições para o Wimbledon Shorts - Festival Internacional de Curtas de Wimbledon, na Inglaterra, estão abertas. O evento, que acontece no dia 5 de julho, procura por trabalhos inovadores com duração máxima de 15 minutos que desafiem os limites do cinema convencional.

Realizadores brasileiros podem inscrever seus filmes, finalizados a partir de 31 de outubro de 2012, para concorrer aos prêmios de Melhor Filme, Melhor Animação, Melhor Filme Experimental e Melhor Cineasta Estudante, este último voltado exclusivamente a menores de 25 anos matriculados em escolas ou universidades de cinema.

O processo de inscrição é realizado totalmente online por meio do site Withoutabox e tem prazo limite em 14 de abril, mas quem submeter seu filme até o dia 21 de março pode aproveitar de um desconto no valor da taxa.

III Salão Xumucuís De Arte Digital: Mídias Selvagens

O Salão Xumucuís de Arte Digital em sua terceira edição abre a chamada pública para receber inscrições para suas exposições a serem realizadas em Março de 2014. De 17 de Janeiro a 09 de Março através do site salãoxumucuisdeartedigital.wordpress.com e no e-mail xumucuis@gmail.com podem ser obtidas mais informação e o edital.

O tema desta edição é “Mídias Selvagens”, onde buscamos mais do que uma exposição, temos a intenção de discutir o espaço da arte contemporânea em plataforma tecnológica em Belém, na Amazônia e no Brasil, onde as obras transcendem o espaço expositivo convencional e se integram e transformam o cotidiano. Os trabalhos devem vir acompanhados de um dossiê assim como do currículo artístico e portfólio, e tudo que for pertinente para a análise dos projetos. São duas premiações, uma nacional e outra para artistas da região amazônica.

“O artista visual hoje em dia pensa em processos, construções poéticas, discursos, que vão além da obra de arte e é isso que queremos saber, como ele cria sua arte e como se relaciona com o mundo e seus dispositivos informacionais, tecnologia de ponta e obsoletos, em ambientes reais e virtuais” diz Ramiro Quaresma, idealizador e curador do Salão.

“Já montamos exposições nos melhores espaços expositivos de Belém, mas nesta edição optamos por não amarrar o artista ao cubo branco e expandir nosso circuito expositivo para a as possiblidades da cidade como um todo, rompendo com os muros que separam a sociedade e o sistema da arte contemporânea” comenta a coordenadora geral e designer expográfica do Salão, a museológa Deyse Marinho.

Em suas duas edições anteriores (2011 e 2013) e no Panorama da Arte Digital no Pará (2012) viabilizamos exposições com a participação de mais de 60 artistas de todo o Brasil, numa multiplicidade de obras que iam da arte sonora ao game arte, instalações e video performances, onde a arte e a tecnologia se integravam em um imersão aos sentidos, visitada por mais de 2000 pessoas, onde realizamos ações formativas para mais de 100 participantes entre artistas e estudantes.

O Salão de Arte Digital surge como proposta do pesquisador de artes visuais Ramiro Quaresma e da museóloga Deyse Marinho, que desde 2008 no blog Xumucuís (xumucuis.wordpress.com) discutem e divulgam artes visuais, patrimônio histórico e cultural, e museologia. Ano passado o Salão foi contemplado pela Funarte com o prêmio “Conexão Artes Visuais MINC/FUNARTE/Petrobras”, e nesta edição selecionado no edital Oi de Patrocínios Culturais, que também selecionou o projeto em sua primeira edição.

u Ironic Art Images about the Past, Present and Future of the“2014 Silk Road International Exhibition” is an open competition.

u The entries for the competition are to include: Cartoon, comics, caricature, strip ， drawings, graphics and other works of original fine art created by qualified artists using a variety of techniques.

PRIZES

·         Grand prize  amounting to 5.000 USD

·         2 gold medals amounting to 3.000 USD

·         2 silver medals amounting to 2.000 USD

·         2 bronze medals amounting to 1.000 USD

·         9 special prizes amounting to 300 USD

Ø The jury has the right of final distribution of statutory prize and all of the jury’s decisions are final.

Ø Organizers plan to award the artist with the best debut and will give him/her the opportunity for an individual exhibition at the Gallery which will be included in the 2014 program.

PARTICIPANT PRIVILAGES

u   Artists of work qualified for the exhibition will be given a presentation copy of the catalogue.

u Artwork sent to the exhibitions will be exhibited in the country and abroad after the main exhibition.

COMPETITION PROVISIONS

² Organizers reserve the right to use all submitted artwork for advertising purposes without any special fees paid to the artists that include being exhibited and reproduced in a variety of advertising materials as well as printed and circulated in catalogues.

² The prize-winning works become the property of the organizers and will be included in the collection of the Gallery.

²   The exhibition organizers are the final judges in interpretation of the rules and  regulations.
